Happy and Healthy

My mother-in-law called last night wondering if we were all feeling better. She said she read my blog and I hadn't updated since I posted about Macy's flu, so I guess I better do that. Our whole family is happy and healthy again! (knock on wood!) I forgot how fun Macy can be when she feels well! She has so much more energy and is enjoying every bite of food she can have. The poor thing got really sick of Pedialyte and so did my check book! She drinks her formula as fast as she can, probably worried that I'm going to take it away. She's eating her baby food really well too. I'm getting paranoid about easing her into a 1 year old diet. I've gotten so used to Gerber preparing her meals for me and knowing that they're healthy. Maybe it will be good for my diet too when she starts eating more solids. If only I cared as much about my welfare as I do for hers. I would be pretty darn healthy! Payte and I really are trying this year to get fit and slim down a bit. We are traveling to California for a week this summer and would like to enjoy the beach, so we've got about 4 months to get decent swimsuit bodies. Wish us luck! Macy on the other hand is going to look adorable in her swimsuit! I'm so excited!

Influenza?????

Well, my poor baby really is sick! Macy started coughing again yesterday and developed a fever last night. I decided I'd better get her to the doctor today and just nip whatever she had in the butt. After an hour and a half wait, and a simple swab of snot, we discovered Macy has Type A Influenza! She even had a flu shot in November! Dr. Harper said this was the first case of the flu he'd seen with a patient who had the shot. I was watching the news tonight though, and they were saying this year's flu shot has only been 40% effective! So Macy is on Tamiflu now, and the doctor prescribed some for me too, because he seems to think it's inevitable that I get it too. I'm praying that I can escape, but thanks to a great doc. for thinking ahead. So I've spent the day cleaning the house and washing sheets, towels, rugs, blankets, and everything anybody has touched. Payte went into the doctor on Friday and they just gave him meds for a cough. He's had a fever too though, so who knows what's going on there. Anyways, everyone pray that you can stay healthy during this yucky season! Good Luck!

Happy Valentine's!!!!!!

My family had a great Valentine's day. It was fun to have Macy around and spoil her with cute stuff! It was a busy day with doing taxes (we did very well on that! Thanks Macy!), going to clogging class and grocery shopping. When I got in my car to go do all this stuff, there was a very sweet card from Payte on my dashboard and the new Natasha Bedingfield CD was playing. I was very romantic this year and gave Payte the Arnold Schwarzenager bible of body building!!! Whoo hoo! Yes, it's the most disgusting book I've ever seen, but whatever makes him happy right? Macy got a very cute pink, plush, puppy (say that three times), a pair of shoes, and some cute jeans. Her nana sent a pink bear, and her grandma gave her a cute duck. The best part of the day was our dinner though! And it was homemade!!!!! I had take pictures of it, because it's rare that we have such a beautiful meal. It was so easy though, that I'm ready to do it more often! We had steamed asparagus with a light cheese sauce, grilled steaks, and mashed potatoes. Oh, and don't forget the fabulous white chocolate dipped strawberries! Sooooo good! Anyways, I hope everyone else had a great day with the people they love. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family and a loving husband who takes care of his wife and daughter. Love ya hunny!

Sick of being Sick

Our family has been sick for the past week, and I'm sick of it. It started with Macy having a runny nose, then a cough, and then coughing until she threw up, and a fever of 103.3. I took her to the doctor and they thought she had RSV so they did a test and a chest x-ray. Those came back negative so they diagnosed her with Bronchitis. They perscribed a steroid and antibiotic for her, bu she couln't keep it down, so the next day I took her back to the doctor and they gave her a couple shots. I wish they would have done that in the first place. Anyway's she's on the mend now, and Payte and I are sick. 'Tis the season I guess. Life could be alot worse.
