Introducing....

Parker Lee Cagle! Arrived 8/23/2009 6 lbs 7 oz 19 inches long. I can't believe the timing this little guy had! My brother Jared got married Saturday 8/22/09. I was on bed rest but snuck myself to the temple for the ceremony. I contracted through the sealing but it wasn't anything big. I went home drank lots of water and took a nap and the contractions stopped. I went to the reception and sat the whole time and felt pretty good. I was so sick of telling everybody when I was due and what's going on. Everybody was like, "Wouldn't it be nice if he came tommorrow?" I honestly thought that was a long shot. Well, at 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning my water broke! I was literally laughing because I couldn't believe the timing! So we called my poor exhausted mother and she willingly came over and slept on the couch so that we could leave Macy in bed. We got to the hospital at about 3:00 a.m. and just waited for things to progress. I was already 90% effaced and 3 cm the week before, so that was really nice. I didn't have much work to do. I actually had to experience real contractions this time though. With Macy I was induced, and got the epidural before I felt anything too uncomfortable. The epidural this time came a lot later because they called the wrong anesthesiologist. He seemed kind of grumpy when he got there which was strange because he's the same guy I had last time and he was way cool. Anyways, the epidural made me numb up to my neck and I still felt every single contraction. The edge was taken away, but I felt them all! And it lowered my blood pressure so much that I got sick and was throwing up the whole time. I was also Group B positive so they had to hurry some penecillin into me through an IV which burned so bad!!!!! That made me throw up just from the pain, but at least it took my mind off of the contractions!?!?! Anyways, I started pushing at 9:40ish and had Parker at exactly 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning! We're so blessed that everything worked out so well! He's so healthy and perfect and beautiful! Macy is doing really well with him too. We'll see how she does starting tommorrow with no Grandma's around. She got pretty darn spoiled this week! Anyways, I'm glad it's all done and I'm glad we are all healthy! Thanks for all your prayers! They were heard and things couldn't have been better.

NEW BABY!!!

Muhahahahahahaha! (Evil laugh!) You totally thought you were going to see new baby Cagle didn't you? Nope, he's still hangin' out in my belly for now! The goat that has been living at our house just gave birth to the cutest little baby girl! She's so soft and sweet! Macy hasn't met her yet, but I'm sure she'll go nuts! It's so much fun living in the country and having horses and goats live at our house! They keep all of our weeds mowed down in the pasture which is very nice!

And as for an update on our baby boy....

I'm now on bedrest because my blood pressure won't stay down when I get up and do anything. At the doc on Wednesday BP was 160/122!!! Ahhhh! That freaked me out, cuz it's never gotten over 95 even when I had Macy. So I got to spend a couple hours at the hospital to be monitored and have blood tests for pre-eclampsia. Blood test came back fine, and BP stabilized after laying down, so we got to come home. I'm 37 weeks now which is two weeks past when we had Macy! And this baby had steroids a month ago, so we're excited to have maybe a chubbier baby this time! Now we're just trying to get through the weekend because my brother Jared is getting married in the morning. I'm sneaking off of bedrest to go to the sealing in the morning! Shhhh! Don't tell! Anyways.... I will post more later, Macy just woke up. Bummer!

Success!

I went to the clothing exchange this morning and had great success! I took about 2 1/2 boxes worth of Macy's old clothes and brought home tons of great baby boy clothes, shoes, and accessories. Some things are still in their package or still have tags! I also took a box of diapers which sold as soon as I said they were for sale! Easy 20 bucks! And I got some great designer baby boy crib sheets for $10. I'm so excited and feel so much more prepared for this baby now! And it was great motivation for me to go through ALL my baby boxes and sort out what could be used for the new baby, donated, exchanged, sold etc. Now I just have to clean out, trim out, paint, and re-do the floor in our spare bedroom. I'm thinking baby blue, brown, and orange. Could be fun. Oh, and if anybody wants to get rid of a dresser, that's the only furniture I need.

I talked to Jorelle this morning at the exchange and I'm excited to get to work with her on an exchange set for sometime in August in Idaho Falls. So start going through your stuff now and be prepared for a GREAT event! There will also be a consignment area for things you want to sell. Please start spreading the word and please feel free to ask questions or make suggestions!

It's finally official!!!

Payte, Macy and I are finally officially announcing baby #2!!! Due September 13th, 2009. I finally got in to the doctor today and got a due date and first ultra sound. Baby is healthy and we find out what we're having in 7 weeks! Macy doesn't understand what's happening yet, but I'm sure she'll catch on soon. They will be 2 1/2 years apart, which will be perfect I hope. We weren't exactly planning on them being that close, but we'll count this as a very special blessing as it took us so long to get Macy! The doctor has given helpful tips on trying to prevent the pre-eclampsia this time, but the risk is at about 25% this time rather than 5-10% last time. So hopefully things go well and we can welcome another healthy baby into the Cagle home.

I love you Betty Crocker!

As sort of a New Year's resolution, I am trying to be better about keeping a budget. I have definately found that food costs our family way too much money each month, so I am trying to find affordable, yet tasty meals. Luckily I ran in to bettycrocker.com. They had 5 meals all planned out that cost less than $50. Many of the items are already in my pantry, so it ends of being even less. The recipes look simple and yummy so I am excited to try them out next week. It even has a grocery list completely organized and ready for you to use. I printed the recipes and the grocer list out and put them on my fridge. My husbad took a look at them and got pretty excited, so that might be a nice way to get him home in time for a warm dinner! I will let you know how it goes! Here are some pictures of a few of the yummy looking meals.

New Recipe

I absolutely love finding new recipes to try. I guess you could call my looking for recipes a hobby. The internet is the best place to find great new things and it's free! My favorite site is kraftfoods.com, and I tried a new chicken recipe that the whole family absolutely loved! It's also fairly healthy. Only 340 calories per serving. So here it is:

What You Need:

2 tsp. oil
3 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can (15 oz.) stewed tomatoes, undrained (I used italian style)
1/4 cup KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing (I used fat free, and it still tasted great)
3 Tbsp. tomato paste (if you can, buy this in a tube and keep it in the fridge)
4 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1 lb.)
1 cup KRAFT Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
2 slices OSCAR MAYER Fully Cooked Bacon, crumbled

Make It:

HEAT oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and onions; cook 5 min., stirring occasionally. Stir in tomatoes, dressing and tomato paste.
ADD chicken; cover. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer 12 min. or until chicken is cooked through.

(at this point I (Sherie) transferred the meal to a baking dish and then added the cheese and bacon. I baked at 475 for about 10 minutes or until it's bubbly and brown) or you can do the following:

SPRINKLE with cheese and bacon; simmer, uncovered, 5 min. or until cheese is melted.

First time Playdough!

Last week I found out the company I work for was laying off a few people and elimating many jobs. My job was one that got cut. I was only working from home 1 to 2 hrs a day though, so that wasn't a big deal to me. They did offer me another position, but I would basically be working full time, and that just wasn't an option for our family right now. So now I have a little extra time in the day, especially while Macy is napping. The other day I decided to try making some playdough. It was so easy and turned out great. Macy loves it and it keeps her busy for a while. All it took was equal parts of salt, flour, and water. I added food coloring for fun. So here are a few pictures of Macy's playdough time. The one picture looks like she's eating it, but she figured out quickly that it does not taste very good!

Simple Pleasures

I enjoy watching Macy getting so much pleasure out of the most simple things in life! Right now she especially loves playing in the snow. Payte had the day off on Monday so we decided to go sledding in our back yard. Our porch is over our daylight basement, so the stairs are quite tall. They were already mostly covered with snow, so Payte just leveled them out and made a great big sledding hill for Macy. Macy would lay clear down in the sled and we would send her off all by herself! We got such a kick out of watching her! Once she stopped clear across the yard, she would yell, "Again!!!" So I would take her up the hill and pass her off to Payte over and over again. When Payte and I got too tired to play that game, we just plopped down in the snow for a few minutes and watched Macy play. We built her a chair and a very small and sad snow man. We had so much fun that day! We also had a great Christmas, but me being the bad mom I am forgot to bring my camera to my parent's house. So they have all the pics. I'll post them one of these days I guess! But for now, enjoy the Macy snow pics!
